Terry Mungai
Ashley is an award-winning champion of change, by profession she is a political economist and qualified lawyer from the University of Warwick (UK). She has just completed her second masters in Global Governance at the Balsillie School of International Affairs under their MAGG fellowship in partnership with the Canadian Government and the University of Waterloo. She is set to have two papers published this summer. The first on Covid and incarceration, the second on the socio-economic motivations of Terrorism in East Africa. Ashley has previously worked for the Forthall school of Government (Kenya); the Global Policy House (UK) and is set to join the UN this fall. However, her passion has always been Beauty with a Purpose after growing up in the industry since she was seven years old. Ashley is passionate about female empowerment and using her platform to champion for change, both in the industry and in the narrative surrounding Africa. She has attended the international finals four times alongside her mother and represented the Kenyan delegation in the Philippines during the Mr World pageant. Locally she has choreographed the finals three times and most recently been the principal of our domestic Boot camp for the last two years. Prior to which she was the chaperone and manager of both Jeruto, Evelyne Njambi and Kevin Owiti, as they each went on to win their respective continental crowns. This year, she is excited to be appointed the new deputy director of the Miss World Kenya franchise. She is excited to take on this new challenge and continue to fly the Miss World flag high within our great nation.
