Miss Sharon Obara crowned Miss World Kenya 2021

Beauty and vibrancy characterized the evening at the Trademark Hotel as the 16th Miss World Kenya 2021 went down – the finalists graced the stage for one last show in a bid to get the much desired crown. The models then proceeded to showcase each of their individual talents to an excited gathering of government officials and beauty pageant lovers present. Soon after, guests were treated to different categories of the pageant including a dance segment, cultural wear and the evening gown category. The different categories of clothing will then end paving way to the moment of truth.

Crowned by Terry Mungai and CS Joe Mucheru, the new Miss World Kenya 2021 – 2022 is Miss Sharon Obara – the excited finalist says the journey to the title hasn’t been an easy one but she’s grateful for the chance to represent Kenya on the global stage. Speaking during the event held at the Trademark Hotel, Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru assured pageant of government support saying the talent and beauty the country has to offer deserves all the support it can get.

Miss Sharon Obara filled with emotions finally took her seat and crown from her predecessor Maria Wavinya. Sharon says with this win and mantle she hopes to bring to light awareness on mental health issues “Because the pandemic has taken a toll on a lot of people especially mentally, so we are championing for inclusivity and ways in which we can help each other to make ourselves better and tomorrow even better” said Miss Sharon Obara.

The glam event saw guests dressed to perfection and had Obinna and Angela Muiruri as the emcees for the night.

Terry Mungai, Miss World Kenya 2018 Magline Jeruto, Big Ted, Robert Burale and gospel singer Size 8 led the judging panel on the road to crowning the new beauty queen.

Sharon Obara will represent the country in Puerto Rico in December at the global competition.
