Eradication of Jiggers

In the year 2010- Kenya representative Natasha Metto won “Beauty with Purpose Category” during Miss World Competition held in Sanya – China in October 2010. This was due to her collaboration with Cecilia Mwangi in eradication of jiggers.

This prompted the visit to Kenya by Miss World 2010 Alexandria Mills, the president of Miss World Julia Morley and other dignitaries to present the award of $10,000 to Ahadi Kenya Trust  that went to help fight the jigger menace in parts of the country. Ahadi Kenya Trust is a Non-Governmental Organization started in 2007 and whose major activity is to eradicate jiggers. Through that support, Ahadi Kenya Trust has had the joy of seeing children who could not walk, get back to school, while adults who depended on handouts get involved in income generating activities.
