CHANTOU KWAMBOKA

The reigning Ms. World Kenya (2022 – 2023)

After falling at the last hurdle last year, 24-year-old Chantou Kwamboka came out the winner and will contest the coveted blue crown at the 2023 Miss World competition

Chantou is a Maseno University alum. She studied Medical Bio-Technology and pursued a career in acting and new media as a podcast host. She attended high school in Migori at Kadika Girls.

Reacting to her win, the disbelieving Chantou who beat one thousand other entrants at this year’s contest had this to say on her Instagram:

“Last night was one for the books! I still haven’t soaked it in all yet. I’m happy, blessed, grateful and highly favoured. I smile, cry and laugh all at the same time. This is truly a dream come true. I am completely grateful for how this journey has unfolded.

For the overwhelming love and support, I will forever be indebted We dream, God aligns for sure. I am honoured to be your new Queen. May God bless and oversee this new chapter.”

Chantou takes over from 2021 Miss World Kenya Sharon Obara whom she came second to at that year’s contest. It will be a task ask but she will be hoping to go further than Sharon’s stellar top 20 performance at the Miss World pageant.

No Kenyan has ever been crowned Miss World with the closest ever being a few finalists; including Maria Wavinya in 2019, Evelyn Njambi in 2016 who finished fifth overall, and Yolanda Masinde who was a semi finalist in 2000.

But going by her looks, charm and brains, Chantou might have the best shot of bringing the world title back home.

Her Instagram is a great display of her beauty.
